|Historic Site and Unique Location|
Whether its for 5 or 500 people, few restaurants can provide the waterfront accomodations we have within a short drive from Syracuse. New dockage is available for boating guests as well as party on the patio facilities.
Castaways is situated on the location of what was probably a permanent indian village which existed between 1500 and 2000 years ago. From artifacts unearthed between 1937 and 1938, the indians were probably Algonquin with an Eskimo culture as opposed to the nomadic Iroquois which existed when the white man arrived. Among artifacts unearthed were arrowheads, copper awls and harpoons.
We are where the Oneida River meets Oneida Lake, the largest body of water wholly contained in New York State.
You can see Castaways from the Rt 81 bridge which crosses the water just a few hundred feet east of us. Please use the map on our "Contact Us" page to get to us. Be careful to not use our mailing zip code for mapquest - only the Central Square zip code works (13036).
